Style.it: Milla Jovovich posa per ‘Vanity Fair’The Fashion Spot for the heads-up, looks like we have another magazine feature to look forward to!According to the Vanity Fair Italia homepage, Milla Jovovich was photographed for the magazine by French photographer Fabrice Dall’Anese at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival last week. Although her portrait is as-of-yet unpublished in print, it’s already up on their website in medium-res, and is likely to be featured in the upcoming June 2010 issue of the magazine; as some will recall, Milla was photographed by Dall’Anese for a similar-type festival feature during her 2008 Cannes Film Festival visit, the resulting portrait of which was featured in the June 2008 issue of the Italian publication. and the below embedded behind-the-scenes video from the Vanity Fair Italia homepage @ Style.it:Data 29.05.2010 |
New L’Oréal Infallible, Color Riche, Youth Code TV commercialsInspired by the news of Milla’s various recent modeling gigs for the French cosmetics giant L’Oréal Paris, we decided to do a bit of YouTube-ing for her commercials — and with neat results. Check out these four recent or at least to us new/unseen Milla Jovovich commercials for the brand, as embedded below. Kicking things off with one of the newest commercials, Milla is featured in a new, French-language L’Oréal Infallible Lipstick TV spot. This is the commercial Milla was spotted filming in Paris, France last March:
Another new commercial that’s currently being featured on at least European television is this one for L’Oréal’s Youth Code Anti-Wrinkle Daycream. So far, only a Greek version of the TV spot has surfaced online, but I, for one, here in Finland have seen an English-language version of the same one on TV and will try and grab it for the site. Meanwhile, here’s the advert in Greek: In slightly older, but still fresh commercials, here’s another French Infallible TV spot from last year, this time promoting the Infallible Make-Up Foundation: Last but not least, here’s a TV spot promoting the L’Oréal Color Riche lipsticks that at least looks recent, though it’s difficult to estimate exactly when this was shot. French model-actress Laetitia Casta co-stars. In French: Data 29.05.2010 |
Winnipeg set of ‘Faces in the Crowd’Filming continues on the Winnipeg set of Julien Magnat’s Faces in the Crowd. Following her brief appearance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France, and a day of shooting for L’Oréal in Paris, Milla Jovovich flew quickly back to Canada and has continued tweeting excitedly from the set of the upcoming thriller:
The first photos from the various sets of the film are also beginning to surface online. ChrisD.ca for example has a couple of very interesting pictures (in which no actors are discernible, however) from the Esplanade Riel pedestrian bridge in St. Boniface, the “white bridge” where Milla says shooting will be ongoing for the next couple of nights. According to the article, scenes are also being shot at the Norwood Community Centre. Writer/director Magnat has also posted a couple of great pictures from shooting the film on his Facebook page, here and here. Two new set photos of Milla have been uploaded to our gallery. According to the movie press release published on Bloody-Disgusting.com, principal photography will wrap June 13. Milla stars in Faces in the Crowd as face-blind woman Anna Marchant opposite Julian McMahon, Michael Shanks, Sarah Wayne Callies, Anthony Lemke, Marianne Faithfull, Sandrine Holt and Valentina Vargas. New Resident Evil Afterlife With Chris, Claire, and AliceThree new photos have been released for the upcoming sequel Resident Evil Afterlife that features Milla Jovovich returning as the franchise hero, Alice. This time she’s once again joined by Claire Redfield who brings along her older brother Chris. Chris’ presence in the fourth film is interesting because he appears in the very first Resident Evil video game. What took him so long to join the party? Check out the photos below… The official plot synopsis for the film has yet to be released but it will probably center on Alice and her buddies taking down the infamous company responsible for the zombie epidemic once and for all.Is it just us, or are these some of the most well dressed vigilante fighters you’ve ever seen? Their outfits look more fashion than military but since this is a movie, we’ll let it slide. As for the addition of Chris Redfield, we’re happy to see him but we’re not sure if Wentworth Miller will be able to live up to our expectations. Chris is the original badass in the video game along with Jill Valentine (can we get her back please?). Do you think he can pull this off? Resident Evil: Afterlife is directed by Paul WS Anderson and will hit theaters on September 10, 2010. New Photo Albums:

Milla Jovovich for Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet campaignMercedes-Benz is making a concerted effort to reach out to younger consumers. Case in point: its global campaign, rolling out this week, which promotes the E-Class Cabriolet with model/actress Milla Jovovich in a colorful headpiece by avant garde hat designer Philip Treacy. It's the latest feather in its cap as Mercedes woos millennials, a choosy cohort it's been actively researching since 2008. That's when the brand launched Generation Benz, a private online community to engage Gen Y in conversation and feedback about the brand. The luxury auto brand has been approaching that fickle group with a soft-sell research approach it's calling “customer intimacy” – a relationship that goes deeper than traditional research. According to Steve Cannon, VP of marketing for Mercedes-Benz, the tactic creates brand disciples and advocates as it engages the next generation of car buyers. "I'm talking about getting that much closer to your customer -- that makes some of our ways of targeting them look Stone Age,” Cannon said at the recent Association of National Advertisers' Brand Innovation Conference in New York. "We have actually taken money away from things like focus groups and the like and moved it to these new programs." In the brand's attempts to woo the 16-33 year-old demographic, which Cannon calls "digital natives," he says, "We asked them questions like, what do you think of brands, who do you turn to for decisions, what kind of TV do you watch -- so we were getting rich sets of data. What I love about this is, it's quick, easy and so comfortable for them. They just hang that camera in front of their face and talk to us." They also offer an M-B Advisors program where regular live chats and group feedback help tailor television spots and tweak product performance. It was this group that convinced the company to not succumb to "Luxury Shame" as the economy was sliding downwards - so they listened, and launched the E Class. The brand is savvy about social media and has its own YouTube channel, Facebook page, and a shiny new app for iPhones and the iPad. It doesn’t hurt that Warner Bros. upcoming release of Sex and the City 2 on May 27th is Mercedes-saturated, showcasing four models next to the four SATC models: Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. As Cannon observed, "Based on the success of the first movie and its ability to attract trendsetters and style-makers, Sex and the City 2 is a natural fit for Mercedes-Benz. The movie provides a great stage for us; it showcases our new eco-friendly flagship S-Class, ruggedly sophisticated G-Class and ultra luxury Maybach line in their natural elements. It also perfectly positions the new E-Class Convertible just as it arrives in showrooms."New Photo Albums:

NBC Connecticut: ‘Zoolander 2′ in the worksNBC Connecticut reports a sequel to the 2001 cult comedy Zoolander is happening. The Ben Stiller-directed original starred not only Stiller himself but also Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Christine Taylor, not to mention Milla Jovovich as the hilarious Russian caricature, Katinka, and although the film’s theatrical release fared poorly at the time ,the film has made revenue in DVD sales and rentals and has since developed a solid fan following.
